The successive Emperor after the Emperor's Birthday begins is the Emperor Meiji, the Emperor Taisho, the Emperor Meiji, and the Emperor Heisei. A birthday of the successive Emperor is still a Japanese holiday.

On November 3rd, Emperor Meiji (1867-1912) birthday is celebrated as Greenery Day.

On April 29th, Emperor Shouwa's (1926-1989) birthday is celebrated as culture day.

The current Emperor is Emperor Heisei. (1989-present) His birthhday is celebrated on December 23rd.

Emperor Taisho's (1912-1926) birthday was on Auguust 31st, but it is no longer celebrated as a holiday.
